The April 2010 Champion of Health is the Portuguese Water Dog, Ch. Aviators Luck Be A Lady. “Ladybug” is owned by Victor Malzoni, Jr., Jerson Valle, and her breeders Mike & Cathy Dugan. She is shown by Amy Rutherford. She was the #1 PWD in 2009, and is #1 to date in 2010 with 8 All Breed Best In Shows to her credit. Earlier this year, she won the breed and earned a Working Group Placement at the Westminster Kennel Club. Together with her brother, Ch. Aviators Lucky Charm (“Dickie”), they won the Breeder’s Showcase Competition at the Santa Barbara Kennel Club in 2009. Both Ladybug and Dickie have all their health clearances including Hips, Elbows, Eyes, PRA, and GM1, and are CHIC dogs by meeting the health screening requirements established by the Portuguese Water Dog Club of America. Ladybug is a credit to her breeders that strive for outstanding conformation and temperaments and are committed to canine health as well.
